Victoria Pepple is sincere, just, impartial, assertive, objective, radical, and unassuming… Victoria Pepple’s road to fame didn’t come by chance, she worked for it and she has the flair. -Cosmas Nwokafor
The first time I saw Victoria Pepple on TV, I knew I was going to love meeting her in person, and I wanted to tell her success story. I got the chance. We met somewhere in Victoria Island, Lagos. She struck me as a warm, personable and easy going person, totally down to earth; no pretensions whatsoever. She exudes great charisma and absolute warmth. You get the feeling she is very accommodating.
Born Victoria Ibitoru Pepple on the 1st of December at the Island Maternity Hospital, on Lagos Island, Victoria Pepple has been there, done that and reaching out to even more.
She confessed to being a talkative- a trait that would’ve indicated her future to discerning minds.
Prior to her TV career, Pepple started out has a banker, but got bored quickly. A year in banking could not satisfy this young, fresh out of the University future broadcaster.
Her journey to her life-long passion wasn’t all rosy. Far from it, she had to brave the odds and everything could be said to have been stacked against her, but she had the strength and the tenacity to pursue and grab a hold of what’s hers.
Victoria Pepple’s dream was not supported by her parents who, at one time or the other, wanted her to be a lawyer, a doctor and typically what the African parents perceive has a good career path. That was understandable, I suppose, considering that her father, Mr. Macaulay Pepple worked in the banking sector and her mother, Mrs. Ihuoma Pepple worked with the Nigerian Airways. According to Victoria Pepple , her parents were strict. Her father never showed her support until he saw her on TV, that was when he finally came around.
Victoria Pepple studied Literature in English at the Lagos State University. Did her National Youth Service Corps in Owerri, the capital of Imo State. It was there she worked has a banker, but eventually moved back to Lagos, after a year.
In the early 2000s, Victoria Pepple made several calls to Radio Stations shows has a way for her to contribute. This eventually led her to be invited by IK Osakioduwa to his show then.
Her first major breakthrough was when she was picked to host the Gossip Segment for JJ the Meccadon’s Top Ten show on Silverbird TV circa 2008.
Finally, in 2009, she made her debut on the show, Today On STV, and she has been there ever since, living her dream. But that is not enough, she is reaching for more. She wants to have her own TV show, and why not, she has earned it after many years in the industry.
So, from being a childhood talkative to being one of the respected TV presenters in Nigeria, Victoria Pepple has demonstrated great courage and a single-minded obsession towards a future expectation. To cut it short, she is a go-getter.
